Beautiful Morning in Colorado

Good Morning to all.
It is a true Beautiful Autumn morning here in the mountains of Colorado. We have lots of snow on the peaks and the Aspens are bright Gold and Red.  I know that the Aspens will not last long with the winds we have been getting.  Sorry I don't have any pictures either.  Camera is broke.

I just put all 6 dogs out in the yard to do their business and enjoy the fresh air.  Yesterday my hubby and I pulled all of the onions out of the garden,  In total we have over 300 onions now that I am storing for the winter, Reds, Whites and Yellows.  Our garden did really well this year, over 200 lbs of potatoes, and tons of squash too.  Some of the corn made and most didn't but that is the normal for up in this altitude.  It is all good food for the winter months that are coming.

Today we are going to move the cows to the alfalfa field so they can graze that down for a month or so before we have to move them across the road here to the house for the winter also..  We also have 2 brand new calves they are so cute and very healthy, One was a bull calf and the other was a nice little Heifer that I named Tiny.

The First Hunting season starts this Saturday and runs for 5 days, then Starting October 22nd it will be 2nd season, in which all of my family hunts.  We are hunting for Elk and deer to fill our freezer.  Wish us luck.  We eat venison all year long so the more the better..  That also means that my daughter Dorothy will be home for the first weekend since she has been away at College since August so it will be great to see her.  Hopefully she gets her kill on the first day.  My son Virgil also only has the weekend to hunt since he works 4 days a week cutting trees.  Any meat that they get all goes into one of our big freezers and then I package everything and will send enough home with Dorothy so she doesn't have to worry about grocery shopping while in school.  She goes to Gunnison, Colorado at Western State College.  She loves it there and is studying Forensics and Anthropology.

Well I better get off this is going to be a busy day trying to clean house and get laundry going etc.  Have a great day to all.
