Today was pretty slow, didn't feel like doing too much, so hung out with the dogs and critters and stayed inside for most of it. Of course the wind was blowing as usual and it was only 35 degrees outside.
Tomorrow will be much busier I have to go to the hospital in the morning to get blood work done and then I have to find a way to get some money so I can get tires on my car tomorrow too. They are desperately needed. I loaned some money to a friend of mine well over a year ago and I have been pestering her to repay me back, today I sent her another message to please let me know asap. This is why I don't loan money.. It really sucks. Right now I am in the boat of having to rob peter to pay paul etc..
Since I only get paid once a month from SSI it really hurts. When we get taxes done then hopefully we will get some$$ back and can get caught up on bills for a little while. I would love to know where does all of our money go? All that happens is we get paid, then try to pay bills and then NOTHING left over.. YIKES we can't live like this much longer..
Well enough complaining for now.
Have a good one

And Life goes on
Well Today is Sunday,
I have made it 4 days being with out kids now, I am finding out that this is kind of weird, learning to cook for just 2 people instead of 3 or 4, and that food last a lot longer than before. That now I have to take the trash out and run all the errands around town, whereas before I could ask someone else to do this stuff for me. Yep I depended on the kids, but now it is time for me to get my ass moving.
I go out everyday and start by watering the cows, goats and chickens, making sure that everyone has feed and taking the dogs outside with me which is always entertaining. I think the Jacks like to test my abilities to think on my feet, they are constantly coming up with new ways to escape the yard. They are a lot like football players everyone goes for the Quarterback (me) then they all take off, when it is 5 dogs to 1 human that just doesn't work.
Virgil is doing good in Greeley and to my surprise he loves it up there, I never thought he would leave the mountains, just goes to show you what I know. He doesn't know when he will be back up here, but when he does he wants to get some cooking utensils and pots and pans etc. I told him to check the thrift stores around there too and to make a list of items that he needs.
This next week I am going to get new tires on my car and then I have to make a trip to Pueblo to see my pulmonary doctor find out what my lungs are doing and why I still get very tired easily. They have increased my B 12 to 1000mg 2x a day and I still feel tired and weak. So this means I get more blood work done this week too at the hospital. Oh what fun.
Well time to get to bed Good night all

Empty Nester..
Well today has been interesting for me so far and it is only 11am. I guess it is official that I am an empty nester. With Dorothy off at College and living in Gunnison right now and Virgil is moving as we speak to Greeley to start his own life and hopefully a job soon, this feels weird.
Of course I still have all the animals and my Jacks to keep me busy, now just try to get used to cooking for 2 people instead of 3 or 4 that will be the biggest adjustment and doing things for myself instead of everyone else. Pretty weird, plus the high winds that are still howling around here too. I will post more later today once I hear from Virgil and see what is happening with him.

Big Changes to our family
Well today came the big news we have been hoping for.. Our son Virgil has a new job that will take him far away from the nest.
The good news is that he will still be in the State of Colorado, at least for the time being. It has been a blessing these past few years that he has been home to help us out and with all my back surgeries he took up a lot of the work with the goats and feeding and watering, but now it is his time to shine and he has a wonderful job opportunity with a National Oil company up near Greeley,CO. So tomorrow he is moving there to start training with them as a Water Tech.
I think it will be really exciting for him and the possibility for him to be able to travel with this company will be awesome since they do business all over the world and the US.
Hard to believe that we will be empty nesters again lol. I guess I have to get used to cooking for just the 2 of us again and taking care of the dogs, cats, goats and horse. Making sure that they have water and feed.
Also I am excited to hear about the price of cattle going over $2.00 a lb, WOW I never thought that I would see prices like that ever in my life, and with the price of goat meat going up too. Now just wishing that the price of gas would go down that would be awesome.
Right now our winds here are rocking the house really hard, we have had 50mph wind gusts going all day, just hoping that the trees all stay standing and the electricity stays on this time too. It makes it seem all the colder outside with this darn wind.. YUCK.
Dorothy even says that the wind is really bad in Gunnison and they got more snow than we did so ground blizzards are a force to be reckoned with over there too. When Virgil is driving to Denver tomorrow he will have to go through South Park and that is notorious for Ground Blizzards and Icy roads not to mention all the Elk that hang out on the highway.
From where We live to Greeley is about 4 hours away, he will be working 2 weeks on and 1 week off and the company provides housing for him too. Very Nice.. Well time to get to bed. Will tell more tomorrow once I find out.

Learning how to Blog correctly
Well, I am learning how to Blog, I wonder if there is a right way and a wrong way to do all of this..lol It will be fun learning as I go and what I have to write about every day or so.
Life after the Holidaze!!!
Sorry that I have not been on in so long, this past couple of months are always hard for me to get through. I can never seem to be in the Spirit for Thanksgiving and Christmas, heck we have even gotten to the point that we don't even celebrate Christmas anymore, I don't even put the tree up or anything, how sad is that??
We have had a pretty dry winter so far, which is not good. We need all the snow we can get, just for the moisture to get us through the summer. We have had some huge wind storms and they are predicting more for us this week with 90+ mph winds and lots of trees being blown down, plus South Park, Colorado having ground blizzards which can be very dangerous.
Our daughter Dorothy headed back to College last week at Western State College in Gunnison, she loves it over there and loves her school. She is planning on attending Summer classes over there this year too for part of her study of Anthropology and Forensics that way she can work on one of the Colleges dig sites that they have going there in Gunnison.
Virgil has been applying for jobs all over the state and the country now too, still trying to find a job. He thinks he finally got one working for National Oilwell Varco, this sounds really promising, last week he had to drive to Denver to go for a full physical with them and drug test, they are just waiting on the results to come back, the lady told him that once they get the results then they will get all of the paperwork finished up and that he will either be working in Greeley, Colorado or somewhere in Utah. That sounds pretty exciting for a young guy working in the oil and gas industry which is what he wants to do. Hopefully things are starting to come around.
I am just trying to save up the $$ to get tires on my car and pay bills, that is a real struggle on limited income in these trying times. Everyone thinks if you work for the state that you get paid well. Well I can tell you first hand that it sucks!! They have not had a pay raise in over 5 years and that the last 2 years they have had to take pay cuts, and seen their insurance and everything else increase. Sorry to be such a downer. Good news is I have a new camera and I am going to start taking some pictures again of our beautiful country around here, taking pictures always cheers me up and I hope that you all enjoy them too.
Oh yes and very soon we will have the pitter patter of little hooves running around again in our pastures lolo Most of our goats are bred and due in March and April this year. They are so precious and so much fun to watch. I will keep everyone posted.
Talk to you all later
